Lisbon for family holiday

Is Lisbon family friendly for a trip ?

Lisbon with kids, the keys to a successful family stay

Lisbon during the Easter holidays ? It is always a very good idea to travel. If you’ve ever been there as a couple, it’s a whole different story if you’re planning a family trip to Lisbon. The rules are indeed different :

  1. Organise a Lisbon family stay at the children’s pace, plan for moments of break.
  2. Find activities in Lisbon with your family for 4 days. Let these good plans satisfy both the little ones and the older ones (Are your grandparents with you ?).
  3. Book suitable accommodation for the gang.

To illustrate our point, we take the example of Shenae Grimes Beech, from the blog The Damn thing. They offers us a nice video with their children during a stay in Lisbon. Their planning was quite classical, they made the must-see in Lisbon while listening to their children. But we realize that their family activities in Lisbon could very well be those of an ordinary adult tourist. The best reward would be that your children would not stop talking about Lisbon once the holidays are over.

A question then follows : what activities in Lisbon can awaken children, leaving them with an unforgettable experience ? Until now, their travel adventure has lacked the pep and excitement of an activity that would leave them stunned. Today, the VisitmyLisbon team offers you a new way to discover Lisbon with your kids !

Lisbon for family, THE tour in Lisbon for your kids !

Lost in charming Lisbon, the children look for in search of the hidden treasure of the great explorer Vasco de Gama. Equipped with an illustrated notebook, they will have to complete several challenges.

Who are they for ? Families with kids between 5 and 10 years old. Our classic tours for teenagers are perfectly adapted because they are tailor-made. We take great pleasure in offering surprises for the older children. Also, the tone for talking about important subjects is nothing like that of a typical school guide. We’re young and we’re on a roll. We wish to change the preconceptions that some people may have about this profession.

Who will guide you during this visit ? Rossana, Béki or Aimée.

They will give you smiles and energy. All in all, you will have understood that this tour is a playful break that is meant to be accessible.

What we want to offer with this tour for kids is to pamper them by occupying them with sensory activities, while allowing them to discover the history of Portugal. Here is the testimony of Anne who came in February 2020 :

« During a brief visit to Lisbon, we spent a good two hours in the company of Aimée. The whole family (2 parents, 3 children 11, 5, and 2 years old) was delighted, we walked around the old town (Mouraria, Graça, Alfama). The tour was fun and relaxed, at a pace that was easy for everyone, we still learned and observed a lot of things. Aimée was very attentive to the kids. I recommend her ! »

  2. Play hide-and-seek with the children in the typical streets of Alfama.
  3. The youngsters will love to visit the Estádio da Luz, the soccer stadium of the legendary Benfica club.
