What can I say, except that our encounter with visitmylisbon.com has left us, a family of 4, with two children aged 8 and 13, with a superb memory!!!???
First of all, an extremely well done?, well detailed website, where I found a multitude of essential information for our visit of Lisbon during 4 days.
Then on the site itself, a watshap link where sylvain directly answered my little questions, always with sympathy, speed and this even if it was sometimes late at night?
I was able to refine the choice of our destinations of visit on this stay thanks to his wise advice.
Then their services, to this Sylvain and to the « Sylvain oenologist », what to say, except that it was perfect???
The first excursion, adapted to our desirata of visiting a wine quinta, was an extremely nice surprise.
Quality service, in a beautiful village setting surrounding Lisbon, with views of the vineyards, local wine tastings, tapas, etc with an outdoor area where the children had everything to enjoy, and Sylvain, a real expert in the field.
All this before taking us to visit the sunset in eciceira, a typical coastal village, just superb.
And to finish, a superb meal in a small restaurant in Lisbon where we would never have gone by ourselves, whereas the food of fresh fish, baccalau, pulp, etc was simply too good?
And the next day visit with Sylvain to discover the streets of Lisbon, from one hill to another, but always attracting the attention of the children through the stories told with the intonation that kept their interest. Sylvain knew how to give meaning and life to the walls and buildings of the city. He knew how to pass on the history of the buildings and alleys, so that through his stories, we didn’t see the miles or the time pass ?
All this to finish the same, on a superb little restaurant, where the recipe of shrimps and clams was so good, that we took some 3 times!!!
And the final touch, was their indication of a small restaurant to do, on Alfama, not far from the Fado museum, a quasi gastro restaurant at the level of the realization of its menus to share, a moving gustatory discovery.
In short, especially if you go to Lisbon, go through them, go through this site, because the service is really personalized and of quality ???

Better, hard to imagine! Discovering Lisbon with Elliot is, in a word, GREAT. We are a family of 6 between 60 and 17 years old! The 6 of us had a lot of fun sharing Elliot’s passion and generosity of messages. His reading of this city with its very eventful history is fascinating. We spent 8 wonderful hours, away from the crowds, with history, literature, town planning, architecture, churches, craftsmen, botany, beautiful tiles in unusual places. Recommended by a cousin living in Lisbon, we met Elliot in San Pedro de Alcantara Square.
He quickly asked us about our expectations of the city and that was the start of a great day.
Apart from stopping at the must-see sites, Elliot brought us closer to the city.
In Bairo Alto, thanks to him, we were able to talk to people from the city and he facilitated our entry into houses, showing us an engraving workshop, a painting gallery and a private mansion. This gave the visit a touch of authenticity.

We called Elliot following a report on M6, which we were immediately excited about, and we said to ourselves that we would take him for the day, hoping that he would have space! From the first contact by email, the contact was made! Elliot is an outstanding guide, he is a well of science, he is really in love with his beautiful city that he transmits to us with passion! We felt like we were visiting with a friend! We walked a lot for our greatest happiness in the end, at each corner of the street there were lots of unusual things to discover that you don’t find in the guidebooks!

Elliot accompanied a group of 13 adults (11 of whom were retired) used to guided tours. No difficulty in following the itinerary in the less frequented and therefore less visited parts of Lisbon. A sober but well-documented commentary. A meal stop in a « non-touristy restaurant. Information to end the evening in a festive atmosphere. The unanimous opinion: one of the best, if not the best guide we have had. Thank you Elliot.

A visit to Lisbon à la carte. In the centre of Lisbon, in a shopping street, our guide Elliot pushes a door and, surprise, we find ourselves in the courtyard of a ryad. It was an extraordinary afternoon that we had the chance to discover Lisbon, his Lisbon as we could never have seen it.
We learned about the city, its anecdotes & its past.
As we wandered around we were able (with surprise and excitement) to leave our mark in music in the streets of Lisbon, and above all to discover the most beautiful street art, places, buildings and viewpoints.
Then, at the bend of a pretty and colourful street, we had the chance to meet a young talented artist.
Further on we listened to some songs and shared a few dance steps kindly offered by an old man in an incredible building with a varied style and then ended up in a little corner of paradise where we enjoyed ourselves.
After a little cherry liqueur and a full belly we were able to attack a colossal climb to admire the view (and get closer to yoga aha).
It was a magical afternoon. It was an incredible meeting and a memorable moment of sharing.
Elliot is much more than just a guide, he is smiling, kind, passionate, intentional, incredibly knowledgeable and captivating.
His kindness, cheerfulness and knowledge, as well as his (inexhaustible) energy, carry us throughout the afternoon through an unrecognisable Lisbon.

We are a group of six retired people who discovered Lisbon during four hours with Elliot; everything is perfect, the tour at the right pace, the comments, the good addresses. We would never have done this unusual Lisbon tour on our own.
Every year when we visit a new European city we take a guide to discover the city at the beginning of our stay, and this year it was Bénédicte who made us discover Lisbon in a different way from the usual tours of the various guidebooks (backpacker, weekend in Lisbon, etc…). You decide which areas to visit and Benedicte takes care of the rest!
Benedicte guided us during a 4 hours walking tour in the districts of Rossio and Bairro Alto among others.
Benedicte is a well of knowledge about the history of Lisbon… what a pleasure to listen to her with her anecdotes about the historical origins of the city and its most emblematic characters.
And what about the pasteis de nata offered with a glass of ginja!
Moreover, his good addresses of restaurants and tascas made us discover a succulent cuisine and an unbeatable quality/price ratio, in particular « A Lanterna » and « Clube do Bacalhau » in totally different styles…

What can I say, we arrived in Lisbon for the first time, we look on the internet for the sites to see, we say to ourselves where to start, it’s a capital city after all… and we find ourselves wandering around Lisbon with a multitude of information to capture: not easy! It’s like a silent film, but without knowing where to look. With Elliot, it’s the totality, large format cinema, the soundtrack that goes with it; and, the history of the places as no site can tell it, atypical places but especially those to be seen. And what can we say about the kind people he made us discover, most often artists but also locals with a common point: the HEART on the hand.
Where no tourist would have had the idea to get involved or even to push the door, no problem and moreover to discover people or places that deserve recognition, no wonder that many of them have put their suitcases down.
Special mention for the surprises during our two excursions…
We didn’t visit Lisbon, we experienced Lisbon with the right addresses (the places to be and to eat!) and not a single disappointment. A piece of advice: go and read the blog like we did, it’s full of advice and information.
It’s going to be difficult to do as well for our next European cities but if we go back to Lisbon, I promise we’ll stop to say hello ?

Forget the paper guide, go human! If you like anecdotes, discoveries, strolls, smiles, good humour, sharing, culture…and why not Ginja (a little wink to our guide from the group!) then don’t hesitate any longer because with Elliot you have a touch of each but without excess. Our group of six discovered the Alfama district in his company and despite our late arrival, he was kind enough to accommodate our requests. A very nice discovery, a very nice moment.
Walking the streets of Lisbon in Elliot’s footsteps, enjoying coffee & chocolate, tasting sardines and other tapas on a corner of the table, was a real pleasure.

Wonderful morning spent with Eliot. He was able to show us around Lisbon in his own way by taking us to places where a tourist would not dare to go. A small alley with a magnificent view, a visit to a tiny craftsman’s workshop, a break in a small hidden courtyard, the visit is surprising and very pleasant. Starting a trip to Lisbon with a visit with Eliot is a way to get into the Portuguese reality through his history, which he tells us with passion. Excellent tour of Lisbon with a lot of historical explanations, more or less known… Rather unknown even! 3000 years of History in a good mood and in the morning freshness then the midday sun. We met Elliott by chance, thanks to our daughter, who also met him by chance….. These coincidences were providential!
5 hours of visit, on foot in the alleys of Lisbon… Incredible discoveries, improbable places, splendid views, … Elliott pushes all the doors… and from now on they open in front of him, so much this smiling French Savoyard knew how to seduce the Lisbon population by his kindness and his simplicity.
Everyone greets him, pats him on the back, welcomes him with open arms, from the owners of the majestic palace, to the potter with golden fingers, to the benevolent bistro owner, to the chic shop manager, to the elegant restaurant waiter…… and others.
He talks about the history of Lisbon, he tells the anecdotes linked to each one, he tells about the azulejos, the fado, he stops here to show you the art of the street or this mosaic of the famous fado singer, which will go unnoticed if he doesn’t show it to you, he goes up there where the view is even more beautiful…. He takes you to areas where tourists rarely go and yet are so picturesque…. He gives you advice on the best restaurants or cafés where you can listen to Fado.
And his good humour shines through… and into the night. And his concern for his visitors is sincere.

First trip to Portugal in Lisbon, departure from Lille with a couple of friends. A few weeks before we had booked a guide for an afternoon on the internet. His site had seduced us, we exchanged emails and the appointment was made. At the first contact we recognized Elliot, cap and braces, friendly, we kissed directly … and it’s gone for an afternoon of superb discoveries, places where we would not have entered, a palace transformed into a shop, a restaurant with walls covered with azulejos, churches, panoramas, streets, addresses … Elliot adapts to our requests, to our desires, to our pace. Lisbon goes up and down, even if we are fit and sporty (52 to 62 years old), so we stop to have a syrup, a coffee and pastries… Elliot showed us his Lisbon that he loves and that we loved. For sure on our next trip Elliot will show us more of Lisbon, there is still so much to see … we did part of the tour again two days later and took our time, a real pleasure! Elliot let us in on some of his intimacy and we let him in on ours too, something has definitely happened, we have a new friend in Lisbon!

For this second, slightly less express escapade (one week) we wanted to live like real natives and not like basic tourists. Elliot recommended us some good addresses (very central hostels, restaurants, etc). We joined some of the tours he was organising (a gastronomic tour where we tasted typical dishes washed down with local wines and a cultural/historical tour).
We enjoyed taking our time: discovering, strolling, eating, drinking, seeing, biking, meeting people… All this punctuated by great anecdotes and the good mood of our guide (Elliot is always in a good mood)! ?
We had fun getting lost in the neighbourhoods we liked… Unforgettable.

It all started one weekend in November
We decided to go on a trip.

Elliot showed us some amazing spots in Lisbon! We never expected to have so much fun with him. It was great. Not only did he tell us some history about the city and showed us around the beautiful historical places but he also showed us some very good restaurants and cafe’s where we had local food.We would book him again and again, if we visit Lisbon another time. He will show you the hidden and the real spots of Lisbon, no tourist would ever get to see. Thanks Elliot for some amazing days. Hope to see you soon again :))) Greeting also from Manuel !
Pasteis de Belém, fireworks, the party and the sardines, the sea and the big statues with open arms and also lots and lots of mosaics, creativity and smiles… Lisbon is a fantastic city, but when accompanied by a guide like Elliot, it is even more so!
He smiles and knows the little shopkeepers who will have the best products: the can of vintage sardines and the access to the right part of the roof to see the city from above.
He will follow you in your creative delirium and even give you some ideas.

While in Lisbon last May for only a few days, Elliot took the time to guide us through some great spots in this city he knows (almost) like the back of his hand! As a result, we were able to enjoy beautiful views, discover delicious restaurants, and learn a lot about the city’s history.

In Lisbon at the beginning of winter 2014 to take advantage of the last heat of the year, Elliot made us discover this beautiful city with his enthusiasm of each moment. Typical restaurants, shops from another time, a total immersion in the Lisbon we want to discover! By day and by night, he gave us great addresses. Visiting Lisbon for 4 days in May 2014 (Oula, that’s a long time ago!), I had the opportunity to meet Eliot. The smile, the joy of living, the desire to share are, in my opinion, what best characterizes this amazing character. Go for it, you will have a great time!

Great stay with Elliot! He gave us some very good recommendations (especially restaurants) and non-touristy places that were worth a visit. It was a real pleasure to visit Lisbon with someone so enthusiastic and communicative. He knew perfectly how to communicate his adoration for Lisbon. No hesitation: go and see him!

I did two visits with Elliot: one in September 2014 with friends and the other in April 2015 with my boyfriend!!!! Both went super well ? Elliot guided us through the touristy Lisbon and also showed us some great places that were a bit more out of the ordinary and frequented strictly by Portuguese people. We’ll never forget a small (tiny even) Brazilian-run bistro he recommended ;D
Anyway, super nice, he’s been living in Lisbon for a long time and he gives guided tours + he’s super serious about his work and he’s aware of everything that’s going on artistically (music, street art…)! ?

Visiting Lisbon with Elliot is a real treat! Two expeditions during which we go from surprise to surprise. Without our guide we would not have had this perception of the diversity of the city. Attentive to our requests, he answers tirelessly with kindness, smile and professionalism. He knows everything about this city. Who else but him could take you to a coffee roaster hidden in a small street? who could show you a « canteen » for reintegration? who could show you different craftsmen, artists who make pottery, tiles, and point out remarkable trees? Our first visit started with an « almost » coffee in the company of Fernando PESSOA and some delicious pastéis and the second ended with a glass of excellent vino verde, all offered by Elliot.
